    I don’t know how experienced of a gardener you are, so forgive me if I’m stating the obvious, but the best thing you can do with your clay soil is add organic matter. Here in Oregon I have access to really good yard debris compost, and for heavy clay I’d till or dig in 4 to 6 inches before planting. The nice thing about clay is that while it may be hard to work, it’s rich in nutrients.

    An the good thing about writing a book, I think, is that even though it might not come out exactly as we envision it, with hard work and dedication, it comes out better.:)
